The history

The building, together with numerous hectares of land—among the oldest in Mestre—was once believed to be owned by one of the “Scuole Grandi” of the Republic of Venice. Those who worked the land were required to pay rent, often in cash or in kind, such as fruit and vegetables.

The current structure dates back to 1933; during restoration works, a date left from the construction site was discovered. The estate, abandoned for many years, was later recovered by the Sottana family, who restored it to its former splendour.
